Fulvenat 250mg Injection is a high-quality product manufactured under strict quality control standards. Please consult with healthcare professional for specific information.
Generally, in postmenopausal women, there is a significant imbalance of hormones, especially estrogen. In response to this hormonal imbalance, there is the development of breast cancer cells that spread locally or to other parts of the body. This type of cancer is known as estrogen-receptor (ER) positive breast cancer. Fulvenat 250 is primarily used to treat this type of cancer as it blocks the estrogen receptors responsible for the growth and survival of malignant cells.
As a part of anti-cancer treatment, hormonal therapies such as aromatase inhibitors or anti-estrogen drugs are used. Despite this, there might be a development of estrogen-receptor (ER) positive breast cancer. In such cases, Fulvenat 250 is used, as the cancer can develop resistance to hormone therapies. As this medication destroys the estrogen receptors, the cancer cells are unable to grow and proliferate any further.
In HER2- negative breast cancers, the malignant cells express both estrogen receptors, as well as alternative cell signalling receptors. Hence, for HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancers, a combination anticancer therapy is typically used. This combination therapy includes Fulvenat 250 and other drugs such as Palbociclib or Abemaciclib, which would slow down the cell growth.
In women with breast cancer who have undergone hormonal therapy, sometimes the cancer may relapse, which makes any further hormonal therapy inefficient. In such a condition, Fulvenat 250 is used as it can inhibit the estrogen receptor activity in malignant cells, which is essential for cancer cell survival.

Fulvenat 250mg Injection consists of Fulvestrant is a hormonal drug, mainly used for the treatment of breast cancers with different phenotypes.
In breast cancer cells, the estrogen receptor (ER) is essential to facilitate cell proliferation and tumor growth. This type of cancer is known as estrogen receptor-positive (ER-positive) breast cancer.
Fulvenat 250 mimics the structure of the estrogen hormone and competitively binds to the ERs. Although this drug mimics the structure of estrogen, it does not activate the cell survival signalling pathways in malignant cells. Instead, it blocks and causes structural changes to these ERs. For these mechanisms, Fulvestrant is known as a selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD).
Once these ERs are broken down, the functional machinery in the malignant cells also breaks down. As a result, despite the presence of estrogen molecules, the tumor cells can no longer grow and proliferate efficiently. In this way, Fulvenat 250 can effectively control the growth of hormone-dependent breast cancer, especially in advanced or metastatic stages.
